What Is Traditional Chinese Massage?
It is a common belief among Chinese experts and medical practitioners that energy is required to move continuously within the body in order to help relieve stress and build the body’s immune system which in turn prevents diseases.
There are two basic kinds of Chinese traditional massage; namely, the “Tui na” and the “Zhi Ya.”
The application of these two techniques does differ; however, people do experience a unique strength and vigor after a massage session that usually lasts for 30 minutes.
The practice of Chinese massage has become popular all over the world.

Chinese massage therapy is very efficient in providing relief from sores and injured muscles.
These techniques work by enhancing blood flow to different parts of the body thereby increasing general health and eradicating lactic and acid buildup.
The result leaves the recipient in a relaxed mood and eased from psychological and physical stress. This is a great way to unwind and rejuvenate.
It is evident that regular massage increases the body’s immune system thereby enhancing resistance to degenerative diseases pertaining to muscles, internal organs, and the skeletal system.
It was revealed in the year 2012 study titled “Archives of Disease in Childhood” that significant improvement was observed in patients that were treated using these massage techniques.

Chinese medicine is quite similar to acupuncture; they both focus on channeling of energy points that effectively transport and guide blood and energy (Qi) all over the body.
The aim of these medical procedures is to achieve a balance that will eventually protect the person from all sorts of infection while ensuring the optimal functioning of organs in the body.
When there is a blockade in these channels, the person may experience pain and becomes susceptible to disease.
An interesting fact was revealed in a 2013 study by the American Message Therapy Association; according to the report, that regular massage does treat diverse chronic diseases like chronic low back pain, cardiovascular anomalies, and rheumatoid arthritis.
It is therefore apparent that the masseuse can identify which pathways are blocked and require pressure.
The technique referred to as Tui na involves the stretching, kneading and pushing of the muscles while the second process referred to as Zhi Ya focusses on pressing and pinching of acupressure points in order to relieve stress and pain.
Both methods are based on the treatment principle of relative effect.
In essence, the body is stimulated to release more hormones, normalize blood flow and boost the general body energy.
“Shou fa” also referred to as ‘hand technique’ is further classed into the “yin” or sedating technique and the “yang” also regarded as the stimulating technique.
The principle of this technique is to balance both yin and yang in order to achieve health.
1.Wash your hands with warm water and have your fingernails manicured; meanwhile, take off everything on your hand that may hinder practice.
2.Be honest about your health problem and inform your massager of any pain or ailments you have.
3.Be as receptive and open to the massage process as possible.
4.Control your massage duration to be within 20-30 mins, not too long.
5.Do not take a massage under the state of anger, excitement, fear, or sorrow.
6.Take the massage two hours after the meal.
7.Make sure that the indoor air can circulate.
8.Make sure you understand the acupoints about to be massaged and be aware of the used techniques.
The healing process and recovery from diseases are greatly enhanced by boosting blood flow to different points of the body.
A 30 to 60 minutes massage session taken twice in a month will go a long way in revitalizing the body.
Massage therapy does enhance muscle repair and recovery; this fact was affirmed by a publication in the “Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine” in September 2010.
Chinese massage techniques are also very efficient in enhancing recovery from disease conditions like hypertension, diabetes, muscular diseases, infection, lung problems, and heart conditions.
1.Syncope
If you have the massage under hunger or are nervous, weak, or tiring, you may faint with the long and hard Chinese massage. In this case, the massage has to stop, and you need to lie near the ventilation and keep your head down. You will be fine in a while.
2.Skin abrasion
Sometimes, the hard kneading and malaxating may abrade your skin. Once that happens, the massage on that area of the skin has to stop, and some surgical measures must be taken to prevent infection.
3.Bruising
Most of the bruises are caused by rude massage skills, but in some cases, it’s because the patients have fewer soterocytes, or the soterocytes they have do not function well. In this case, the massage must be stopped immediately. Those bruises can disappear in 2-3 days, but please have your soterocytes checked in the hospital if they don't.
